Ebay: Used Toothbrush

It's on Ebay, so I'm calling it tech. WTF!! I was talking about buying used RAM on ebay, and my coworker mentioned "Isn't that like buying a used toothbrush?" I didn't think so, but it gave me an idea. I checked, and sure enough someone is selling a used toothbrush, only used once! I'm watching it just to see if it gets purchased. Who is nutty enough to want to buy this crap!

Why Windows Me deserves more respect - istartedsomething

This guy must be quite lonely, I can't imagine there are many folks out there with good words about WindowsME. I imagine for the few who had their system work longer than 30 minutes, they may have had a chance to use these features. I, however, choose to forget I ever installed it.... but I think I still have the install disc. crapiness rating 4/10 turds.

March Madness pool online: Feds look into Facebook illegal gambling

Here's our government wasting tax dollars. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE puts $5 to $20 on an office pool. It's f'ing harmless. People who won't gamble on any thing will put down $5 just to have fun in the office watching the clueless, nonathletic types somehow create a winning bracket. Worry about the violent crimes, not the absolutely harmless office pools. Crappyness rating: 8/10 turds.

Wired News - AP News

Hmm... I guess I should agree with this article, seeing as it's quite true. I wouldn't be writing this if it weren't for the net.

Kentucky Lawmaker Wants to Make Anonymous Internet Posting Illegal - Video - WTVQ 36 - Lexington, Kentucky

Ah yes, another fine example of a lawmaker not understanding technology. Good luck enforcing this, just remember the Internet is a series of tubes. This should help open the tubes so the Internet doesn't have an anonymous embolism. Idiots.

Set a Blank Password in Windows XP To Protect the Computer from Internet Attacks

If ever there was a crappy story.... this would be it's name. I can't believe ANYONE would recommend using a blank password EVER! The so-called benefit of not being able to access it over the network is utter horse crap. If you don't want your pc accessible over a network then use a firewall. Being lazy is not a substitute for good computer practices. This is why there is so much spam. People who believe this crap probably already have viruses and trojans. As a self proclaimed computer expert, this grins my gears.

Padded lampposts for distracted texters being tested in London - Engadget

When I read this, I was hoping it was an article from theonion.com, but no, it's legit. You know what will help better than padded light posts... nothing. Let people hit the light post, they'll learn after doing it once or twice.

Geekiness at issue in Hans Reiser trial | Tech news blog - CNET News.com

This is a tragic story that most of the world won't care about. They aren't familiar with linux, so to them, this is just another murder trial. To linux users (specifically those that were using reiserfs and reiser4) its difficult to see someone in the *nix world in trouble. Let's hope justice prevails.

Advocacy groups bash Comcast's "technical-sounding nonsense"

Let's hope the EFF can win their fight against comcast. An ISP who throttles bandwidth should be labeled an ISD, for "Internet Service Decider."
